#orange A thick, heavy medallion forged from cold iron. It is surprisingly cold to the touch, almost biting your skin.
#orange The outer rim of the disc is stamped with six harsh, angular letters in the Infernal script. Within this border lies a deeply unsettling, geometric sigil.
#orange The core of the symbol looks like a rigid, structural archway or an anvil, held up by hard, right angles. Rising from the very top of this rigid structure is a perfectly smooth, unblemished heart. Flanking the center are two strange, wavy pillars—they look like serpents, or perhaps plumes of stylized hellfire frozen in iron. Finally, anchoring the bottom of the sigil is a twisted, downward-pointing cross ending in a barbed spike.
- The Infernal Letters: A successful check translates the harsh runes around the edge. They spell out V-A-P-U-L-A, the name of an Infernal Duke of Hell.
- The Rigid Arch & Cross: These represent the strict, unyielding laws of Hell and the crushing weight of tyranny. Devils are creatures of order, and the sharp right angles reflect that.
- The Heart on Top: Vapula is often associated with the corruption of mortal crafts, philosophy, and sciences. The heart resting on the cold, mechanical anvil represents a mortal soul—specifically, how easily mortal passions and ingenuity can be sacrificed on the altar of dark ambition and infernal logic.
- The Wavy Pillars: These represent the smoke of the infernal forges, bound and trapped by the iron laws of the Duke.
